Over the course of this 4 (or 5) week session, we will work with both Sun Salutation and Moon Salutations to nurture and maintain balance as we adapt to the physical aspects of the darker, colder months, while keeping up with the more vibrant social aspects of this part of the calendar year. We will work with each asana of each series individually. This will allow us the chance to explore the sensations of the poses deeply and then build upon them as we learn to go with the flow of each series - and the season.

Each class will begin with the more activating Sun Salutation postures to awaken, warm, and revitalize the body, mind, and heart; and then organically transition to the more calming, soothing postures and flow of Moon Salutations. We will round out each class with a restful and grounding guided Savasana.

Tara Newhouse, BA, RN, RYT, has been a student of Yoga and Meditation since 1998 and teaching since 2004. Tara started taking Yoga classes in college, received her teaching certifications through the ShambhavAnanda School of Yoga from 2004-on, and continues to deepen her practice in this tradition.

Tara believes that with skillful and gentle instruction in movement and breath, each person can learn to be their own best teacher and focuses on guiding students towards the innate wisdom inherent in all of us.
Tara encourages others to open and trust that which flows from connecting to the eternal state of Being within so that they may exist more consistently in their natural state of wholeness, peace, love, and joy.

Tara moved to the Upper Valley in 2025 and currently works as a Registered Nurse at DHMC.
